Lies, damned lies and the Florida Legislature ;). They lie about immigrants. They lie about China - Florida's largest trading partner for imports AND EXPORTS. Why? It's the 27 county governments that take welfare handouts from the civilized areas of Florida. The governments themselves are the welfare recipients. It's encoded in Florida Statutes. I have my own not very nice name for these counties. The statutes call them Fiscally Constrained. Basically it's the counties with more trees than people and hardly any people at all. They refuse to raise enough taxes to pay for basic city services like police, fire, water, sewer, roads, schools. But they do have representatives in the state House and Senate. So the Legislature passed a law that gives them bailout money every year. Their representatives go along to get along with Desantis and that's how we get so many mentally deficient laws on the books.
The solution? The civilized areas of Florida need to refuse to pay even one penny to bailout counties and demand that these bailout counties raise enough taxes to pay their own bills. I suggest a tax on trees since they have so many but I really don't care what they tax, how they tax or who they tax as long as they pay their own bills.
